I'm looking for good pokemon to add to my team. I'm restarting, and so far the team I have decided on are -
Torchic (Blaziken)
Magikarp (Gyrados)
Cacnea (Cacnea)
Bagon (Salamance)
So I have a fire, water, grass and dragon type. And also I don't want to double up on weaknesses. So seeing as I already have a Torchic who is weak to water I don't want another pokemon who is weak to water.
I have already decided on this team so far, so I'm not going to change it. I'm going to be having an HM slave, which is why I decided on Bagon, which can only be caught very late in the game.
Also can you list the best moves for all 6 pokemon. Should I teach fly to Salamance? If not who should i teach it to.

RE:
Pokemon Emerald Best Team With Torchic?
I'm looking for good pokemon to add to my team. I'm restarting, and so far the team I have decided on are -
Torchic (Blaziken)
Magikarp (Gyrados)
Cacnea (Cacnea)
Bagon (Salamance)
So I have a fire, water, grass and dragon type. And also I don't want to double up on weaknesses. So...
Torchic Move List
Adamant increases Att but Decreases SpAtt while Lonely increases Att but decreases Def. Since all Fire attacks are Special in Gen3, I'd say use Lonely so your Blaze Kick's power won't decrease. I recommend Flamethrower over Blaze Kick. Aggron has higher Def and Spd than Graveler. Aggron would be great with an Adamant nature, the Rock Head ability and these moves: Iron Tail, Rock Slide, Double-Edge (120 Power and Rock Head will negate the recoil damage), and Earthquake. Aggron is also great for catching Legendaries if it has Iron Defense. I'd rather use Salamence, but Altaria is good. Sky Attack is your only Physical move so if Sky Attack runs out of PP, the Att boost Dragon Dance gives would be wasted. Here's a move set if you use Salamence like I suggested: Dragon Claw, Fly, Crunch, Hydro Pump/Flamethrower. All in all, it's a good and well-balanced team.
A good addition to the team would be Gardevoir, definitely. When given a modest nature and maybe some luck with natural IV's, this pokemon can be a beast. Calm mind, psychic, thunderbolt, and future sight worked well. (In my game, I had taught it ice punch instead of future sight for coverage in the Battle Frontier, just an idea. Oh, and synchronize with lum berry is amazing in the B.F.)
Gyarados- His high attack is commendable, but only when used in the right way. EQ would be good for him, perhaps even along with Dragon dance, and surf and ice beam for coverage, but in Emerald all water and ice type moves are special still so his attack isn't as useful. A good mixed attacker I guess.
Cacnea- Hidden power, Giga Drain, Needle arm and Attract. His defenses are frail, so Solarbeam wouldn't be a good choice unless you had sunnyday. But Blaziken with sunny day seems like a waste of space.
Salamence- Outrage, Fly, Flamethrower and Iron Tail. May as well teach Salamence Fly, it would be STAB and his attack is outrageous so fly would be most devastating on his moveset. Iron tail for rock (or ice) and flamethrower for ice, grass or bug. Fly is there as having another part flying type on your team would only have a common weakness. The moves overlap on super effectiveness but this tries to maximize use of Salamence's attack stat. Assuming you want a mixed Salamence.
Blaziken- Blaze kick, Sky uppercut, Aerial Ace and Swords Dance. The only rock move it could really learn was Rock Tomb, which would be useful on flying types, but I don't think it is powerful enough.
If you wanted a pure electric type, I'd suggest Manectric. Lightningrod is a gift in this gen. Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, along with hidden power (try for ice, grass or water) and thunderwave. It's high speed is useful for crippling potential threats with t-wave, and flamethrower is mostly for use when thunderbolt wouldn't be very effective.
Hope this helps(:
The guy below did some good points in addition you can have a vileplume or a bellossom for attack or defense
For electric type you can choose a pikachu (raichu) or an ampharos, i would go for pikachu for speed and it can take out in the elite four ice and the champion.
For a multitype you can have something very unussual a wigglytuff, yea i know it is weak well i think not it is balanced and can learn a variarity of moves electric fire water ice ghost wich is usefull for elite four.
This is only a complement pf the guy below he seems better than me in pokemon.
Sorry for spelling mistakes i am mexican hope i help
You should evolve your cacnea, because cacturne is a pokemon that covers both grass / dark moves. Don't make Bagon a HM slave, he's a pseudo legendary with high stats, i would say get a Zigzagoon as a HM slave and stop using him later during the game. Teach salamence fly, because he can make good use of it. I know that you don't want to change your team, but i would recommend to lose the magikarp, and use bagon as your dragon pokemon. To cover your water pokemon, i recommend a Staryu, because it covers both water and psychic.
If you don't want staryu, then i would recommend snorunt (glalie), to take care of the dragon pokemon in E4.
Lastly i would recommend a electric pokemon, (Magneton) because it has high speed and good Special Attack.
Okay, so by now you have a team able to take on the elite 4:
Sidney (Dark Pokemon) - Weak against Fighting so your Blaziken should be able to handle them.
Pheobe (Ghost Pokemon) - Weak against Dark, so your cacturne / cacnea (if you don't evolve it)
Glacia (Ice Pokemon) - Your magneton should be able to take out the water pokemon she has, and your blaziken should be able to take out the glalie she has.
Drake (Dragon Pokemon) - If you choose to get Glalie, then you're fine. Your dragon pokemon can also handle them, but Dragon is weak against dragon, so watch out for that.
Finally Wallace (Water): Your cacturne / cacnea should be able to handle Wallace with ease, as well as your magneton.
