help.i am 11 years old and i am really tall.i have blonde hair and blue eyes.please give me some good modeling agencies in the st louis missouri.thanks.
If I were you, I would have my Parents!!! take me to agencies such as Talent Plus, the Modeling division is called Centro Models(www.talent-plus.com) also Mother Model Management is another good agency. I'm with NOW Talent, but that more for commercial type work, but they do have models as well(www.nowtalentonline.com). Never pay an agent or give anyone any upfront money. I would avoid places like Barbizon and Images Agency St. Louis, I hear lots of bad reviews about them. Also if you're really serious and youhave the look get you PARENTS to take you on a visit to Chicago, they have many more agencies than St. Louis, includiing Ford and Elite, which are very good modeling agencies. But with your age range I will go with the ones I listed, St. Louis isn't big on Fashion, we're more of a commercial market, with mroe work for adults but there's still opportunities out here for you. Best thing to do is get your parents involved also, can't stress that enough.
Kittysue pretty much sums up the reality of modeling jobs in St Louis. While there are some local gigs if you want this as a full time career you will have to work out of a place like Chicago or New York. Travel, take your portfolio plus proof of past experience and get an appointment with a large agency to determine their interest. Its a very competitive field.
st louis is not a big city for modeling, and the best agencies do not have offices there. you have to be more than just really tall to be signed by an agency. tall, thin and beautiful girls are rejected everyday. you have to fit into a very limited measurement range, wear a size 2 or 4, have very long legs (34 inches+) and be at least 5'8, plus have a unique look that stands out in a sea of literally thousands of girls also trying to get signed by a modeling agency. you should also know that NO real modeling agency EVER charges you a dime up front-EVER. they only take a percentage of your earnings if you booka paying job through them. if an "agency" asks for any money at all or tells you you have to pay a certain photographer, its a scam, period. to avoid getting your feelings hurt though, you cant expect to be a model because youre tall- lots and lots of people are tall, but most of them cant be models
