I have downloaded starcraft on my pc, and using a memory stick i transferred it onto a notebook so i could play multiplayer with my girlfriend. using LAN (UDP)
We managed to play one full length game which lasted about 2 hours. then whenever we tried to play it together from there onwards we could only get a limited amount of time, (ranging from about 3 minutes to an hour) Before the game completely freezing on the notebook, the only available course of action is to shut it off using the power button.
2 things confuse me about the constant freezing.
1) the notebook has twice as much RAM as my desktop, about 1gb (it is an OLD computer)
2) we are using a cable to connect our 2 computers, and i thought it might have been the cable getting knocked loose but when i played the game single player it froze up again.
The notebook is running windows 7 (which might be the issue).
It's spec is higher than my desktop (although i'm not quite sure how much higher, a lot)
Is there anything i can do to stop this infernal freezing?
Aggiornamento:it's Starcraft 1, sorry i forgot to specify.

windows 7 needs at minimum, 2gb of RAM to run sc2 smoothly
the graphics card has to have atleast 512mb of dedicated memory
and processor has to be a 2.0 duo core.
that's from the top of my head, so it might differ a bit.
