Hey guys, I'm not really familiar with hardware compatibility stuff and all. So I was wondering if having an E8400 will bottleneck my GTX 260. And based on my understanding of bottleneck, does that mean that my CPU is limiting the potential of my GPU?
By the way, I'm running at 1440X900 resolution. Just thought to give you a little extra information.

Sounds like a compatible pair to me. ENJOY !!
With that CPU (Intel E8400), it will not bottleneck your GPU (Geforce GTX 260).
But yes, any hardware can bottleneck the full potential of another hardware, this is because they are all operating on the same plane (through a motherboard), thus they will have to work together some way or another.
*Also, this also depends on how large of a monitor you have, but with the resolution of 1440x900, you are potentially bottlenecking the graphics card, since it can handle resolutions much larger than that!*
Hope this helped! :)
yes the cpu DOES have something to do with the gpu
ex: you have a crappy Intel Pentium 4 cpu and a gtx 260 you will terrible performance
the e8400 is a really good cpu for gaming there should be no bottleneck
and yes your understanding of bottleneck is correct
Yes
no
i have one and there is no bottlenecking
e8400 is at stock everything
260 GTX (core 192) is at 667/1438/1250
