He was never inducted into the Football hall of fame. He was inducted in the Bowling Hall of Fame as a Celebrity Bowler (link below). The Steelers have 1 number retired and will not be retiring any more numbers. The number they have retired is 70 (Ernie Stautner). The Bus will be a Hall of Famer when he's eligable (in another 3 years), but he will not have his number retired unless it's his Notre Dame number (#6).
He will. I don't think he has another season in him, it's a huge loss for the league personallity wise, but Pittsburg will be fine. Bettis isn't a major part of the offense anymore, and you can find a big back in almost every round of the draft.
During the AFC championship game, Mr. Bettis alledgedly told the FOX sideline bimbo that he was glad he wasn't a full time player anymore (due to having a cold that was exacerbated by the thin air and his asthma condition). A comment like that tells me that he knows it is time to retire.
However, I doubt that he has definitely made up his mind.
yeah he said he was....did you see when he sorced the first touchdown how crunk he was...did you see the sneak play when he came up to the line..he started in detriot and played his first preseason game for the steel in detriot..see the bus park in detriot with hall of fame milage on the greatest stage, the super bowl..what better way to leave than at the top?
I would say yes because he has had a good year, and by his health it would be good for him. I'm not sure how Pittsburgh is going to be without him, but I think he will.

After gave a 20 minutes speech at the locker room before the game. I think he is going to retire.
He was asking his teamates to bring him home at the Detroit.

I feel he is. What a perfect way to go out - a trip to the super bowl (plus, in my opinion, a win at the super bowl!)
