Depends upon which tiger subspecies is fighting as sumatran tigresses (the smallest subspecies) only weigh about 200 lbs, a typical lioness weighs about half as much again. On the otherhand a siberian tigress is noticeably larger than any lioness...
The outcome of specific encounters cannot be predicted with any real accuracy. Nonetheless observations, generalisations and conjectures can be made...
The tiger as a species is generally larger, heavier, more muscular and more robustly built than the lion. Siberian tigers are the largest of tigers and have all the above advantages over the lion and also have slightly larger canines and bite force. Generally speaking I would say the tiger wins more of the time.
This crap about lions 'fighting for a living' has no bearing on this interspecies encounter, both are aggressive animals that will stand and fight their ground.
It would depend entirely on the particular lioness and tigress involved. Lions and tigers are similar in size, strength, weaponry and so on - you can't predict the outcome of a fight between them unless one has a very obvious advantage (e.g. big versus small, adult versus youngster, healthy versus sick).
Um, i think the female Lion, and maximum fairly one with cubs. No different animal is getting everywhere close to the toddlers. Momma might die protecting them and go away the Leopard wishing he had tried a rabbit. Dallas BTW The Jaguar is indigenous to So usa of america, and that i'm thinking Lions are not.
They wouldn't fight unless you locked them in a cage and starved them. Apex predators avoid each other most of the time and most confrontations end with one running away. They wouldn't survive very long if they risked injury every day.
