I have never asked a paracetomal tablet if it was vegan, but I assure you they are not made from meat or dairy products.

I avoid chemicals, apart from a beer, eat animals and their products, but cannot be doing with pills & potions.

Which could be more harmful?

A nice steak or a bottle full of pills ?

of direction no longer, your foodstuff recurring won't reason a drug to be extra or much less risky, that is conceivable that the guy in question reacted to the paracetamol they might have been allergic to a factor and this made them ill however the reaction would not have been led to by way of their foodstuff recurring. till they have been vegan using fact they knew that they had hypersensitive reactions to animal products, eg milk, or using fact they have been vegan hadn't tried those products and so did no longer understand they have been allergic, and the paracetamol contained this element. even however as a vegan i would not take paracetamol besides using it having been examined on animals. wish this helps :)

Actually, to whoever said otherwise - some pills are coated in gelatin (not vegan) or filled with lactose (not vegan) - hell some probably contain carmine as colouring. All medication is tested on animals by law. So yeah, a lot of medicines arent vegan!

to me, being vegan is about avoiding animal products as much as possible.. If you are ill and your health is suffering, its OK to take antibiotics or painkillers if there is no other alternative

If, however, it happens to be a genuine question, then you need more help than an analgesic and anti-biotics can give you.

If this is a genuine question, take the medication as prescribed. If you are more concerned about your "veganism" then don't and deal with the consequences of being physcially ill as well as mentally "confused" or obsessive.

I do really believe that if this is genuine you are probably in more need of a mental health counselor than anything else.

Paracetamol is the British form of what we here in the states call Tylenol or acetaminophen. It is a chemical compound with no animal products in it. The chemical formula is C8 H9 NO2.

An antibiotic is a chemical compound that inhibits or abolishes the growth of microorganisms, such as bacteria, fungi, or protozoans. Again, no animal products.

You should discuss your concerns about taking non-vegan meds with your GP. He/she should be involved with this aspect of your life.

i think the normal paracetamol tablets are ok, but im not vegan so cant be sure, only going on my experience of working in pharmacy, check with pharmacist, capsules will not be as they will contain gelatine, also if doctor is prescribing mention ur vegan so they can prescribe something suitable and/or check with pharmacist as they should know.

I'm trying to steer clear of medicines too because most are tested on animals and I never liked taking them anyway. If you don't want to take them then do some research on herbal alternatives.

Drewper----do you eat commercially grown produce? Then you aren't a vegan anyways so don't sweat your meds.
