I just bought a new laptop. It comes pre-installed with McAfee PC SecurityCenter 2008 with SiteAdvisor 90 day trial. I wish to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, so I uninstalled McAfee. Now, when I tried installing Kaspersky, it stops and says that an incompatible program is installed, which was McAfee. But I just uninstalled McAfee and restarted my laptop before I tried installing Kaspersky. Oh, and by the way, I uninstalled McAfee in the Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
How do I get rid of McAfee?

Here is what you can do. BTW, If you are not that smart with the inside of your computer then don't do this first step. Go into your C drive and find the file that has McAfee and delete it. The reason is that even though you uninstall it, it leaves a file on there for some reason. That should work. Here is the step you want to take if you don't want to go that route. Go to McAfee web site and customer care will give you a link that will complete take the program off. Either one will work.
You have to search for the program and then delete it manually. Find the folders and delete them one at a time. Anti virus programs are hard to get rid of. They are made tough. Just search your computer for mcafee and whatever comes, right click and delete it. And just know, whatever anti virus program you go with will do the same thing.
go to the link and you will get the answer
